IS IT TIME TO RACE YET?

All across the country schools are beginning their collegiate road seasons. Teams on the east and west coasts have already spent several weekends of quality "bonding" time together. A little bit closer to home, our own MWCCC begins racing hostilities this weekend at Lindsey Wilson College. Unfortunately, UW-P Cycling will not be making the journey to Columbia, Kentucky this year due to a lack of funding (thanks a lot SUFAC). However, it won't be long before the boys from P-Vegas open up their road seasons with our distinctive (and stylish) orange plaid jerseys. Next weekend UW-Platteville cycling will be headed to the University of Missouri with the smell of blood in our nostrils, ready to take on the best that the Midwest Conference can throw at us. The boys have been training more or less hard all winter for just this day. So, without further adieu, the lineup for next weekends Tiger Cycling Classic:

Returning racers from the 2011 season include:

Michael Michetti (JR): winner of two conference races in the C class last year, he will lead the A squad this year
Benjamin Morris (JR): the sole member of the men's B squad this year, chasing after an elusive Cat. 3 upgrade

New members of the squad include:

Leif Byrge-Liebig (FR): A Cat. 2 racer who will be making his debut in the men's A race looking for opportunities in the field sprints.
Phil Couturier (SR): Phil will be making his racing debut in the Men's C race
Shawn Henning (JR): Another first time racer making his debut in the Men's D field
Kevin Thum (FR): Kevin has raced MTB but will be debuting on the road next week in the C field
Adam Zabler (SR): 2012 will be the first year in the collegiate ranks for this Men's C racer
Nate Zinser (SO): A transfer from Sheboygan, he will also line up in the Men's C field

These riders will be joined at future races by returning riders Jacob Musha (SR) and Andrew Carlson (JR)

With an incredibly strong and deep squad, look for UW-Platteville riders on top of the leaderboard in all 4 classes.
